Big
Big is formed from a collaboration of the world's top photographers, designers, and writers. No other magazine produces each issue in a different country, with different teams of contributors. Communication Arts
Founded in 1959, Communication Arts is the leading trade journal for visual communications. It's the largest design magazine in the world and showcases the top work in graphic design, advertising, illustration, photography and interactive design. Each year includes eight issues of creative excellence, plus a free CD-ROM showing winners from the Communication Arts Interactive Design Competition.

Creative Business
This is a great newsletter on how to handle the business end of graphic design. There are some free forms at this site, as well as an archive of back issues (many available in PDF format for about $10).

Design Issues
Regular features include theoretical and critical articles by professional and scholarly contributors, extensive book reviews, illustrations, and a section for reader response. You'll find an index of what's in the magazine at this site.
